Computer Shop Software in Bangladesh: Sales, Stock and Accounts in One Place
Three kinds of sale in one shop
A computer shop is not a grocery store. On the same afternoon it may sell a laptop with a serial number and a three-year warranty, a RAM stick that came from a bulk carton, and a two-hour service job that never touches stock. A system built for one of those three will quietly break the other two.
- Serial-tracked goods — laptops, monitors, printers. Each unit is a row of its own, and the warranty starts on the invoice date.
- Bulk parts — RAM, SSDs, cables, adapters. Bought by the carton, sold by the piece, valued at the average cost of what is left.
- Services — installation, repair, data recovery. No stock, but real revenue and sometimes a parts cost underneath it.
Where the spreadsheet stops working
The usual setup is a stock sheet, an invoice book and a ledger book. It works until the first return. A laptop comes back with a fault, the shop issues a replacement, and now three documents disagree about which serial number is with which customer. The accounts show a sale, the shelf shows nothing, and the warranty register still has the old unit marked as sold.
The second break is costing. A carton of SSDs is bought at one price in January and another in March. If the sheet still carries January's price, every sale in between reports a profit that is not real — and the month-end stock value is wrong by the same amount.
What the software must do
- Track serials end to end. Receiving a unit should record the serial, the supplier and the cost. Selling it should stamp the customer and the invoice date. A warranty claim should find the original invoice in one click.
- Cost by weighted average, automatically. Every receipt updates the average; every sale leaves at that average. No manual recalculation, no typo in a formula.
- Keep service and goods apart. A service line needs no stock movement but still posts revenue. Mixing the two is how a shop ends up with negative stock on things it never stocked.
- Post the books as you save. A sale should create the receivable and the cost entry in the same transaction. If somebody has to type the same sale into a ledger at night, it will eventually be typed twice or not at all.
- Share a quotation and a bill as a link. Customers ask for a quotation on Messenger and want a PDF. A public link that opens the same document, with the same totals, saves an hour a week.
The Bangladesh details that matter
Invoices need a Mushak-compliant layout, VAT has to be split out of the total rather than guessed, and most shops keep a bKash or Nagad wallet beside the cash drawer. A system that only knows cash and bank will force every mobile-wallet sale into a memo — and then the drawer never reconciles.
What it looks like in Zuviq Book
Zuviq Book is built around exactly this shape: items with or without serials, weighted-average costing, services as a line type, and a posting engine that writes the voucher when the document is saved. The public quotation and bill links are part of the same document, not a separate export.
If you want the shop-specific walkthrough, the computer shop brochure shows the screens in order. For the costing question behind every stock value, read how weighted average cost works.
Start with the free trial, not a migration
The honest way to test any of this is to enter ten real items, one real purchase and one real sale. That is an afternoon, and it answers more than a demo call. The seven-day trial opens every module with no card; pricing after that is on the landing page.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need separate software for the service side?
No. A service is a line type with no stock movement, so the same invoice can carry a laptop, a RAM stick and an installation charge. The books still get revenue and tax on one document.
Can I sell a serial-tracked item without entering a serial?
The item decides. If serial tracking is on for that item, the sale asks for the unit; if it is off, quantity is enough. Mixing both in one catalogue is normal.
What happens to stock when a repair uses a part?
The part leaves stock as a normal issue at its weighted-average cost and that cost lands against the service job, so the profit on the repair is the truth rather than the invoice minus nothing.
Does the invoice work for VAT in Bangladesh?
The invoice carries the tax treatment, the VAT amount split out of the total, BIN fields and a Mushak-style layout. The register can be printed per period for filing.
