Clinic and Diagnostic Centre Software: Tests, Billing and the Report That Waited

The test is the service line

A patient may take one test or a package of ten. Each test has a price, a sample type and sometimes a preparation instruction. The invoice should list the tests clearly, with the package discount shown as a discount rather than a mysterious lower price.

Referring doctors and corporate accounts often get a rate. A price tier per customer keeps the counter from negotiating every bill.

Billing before or after the report

Most centres collect before the test, some bill corporate clients later. Both are normal. The invoice should show paid, part-paid and due, and the patient record should link the visit to the bill. A receipt with the patient's phone is more useful than a paper slip that gets lost.

Consumables are the quiet cost

Reagents, tubes, gloves and printing paper are consumed per test. If they are bought as general expenses, the cost per test is invisible. Track consumables as stock or as a cost category, and review the usage against the test volume.

Reports are not the billing system

A clinical report belongs in the laboratory's own system or record. The billing software needs the test, the patient, the price and the payment status, not the clinical findings. Keeping the two separate protects privacy and keeps the accounts clean.

Referral and corporate dues

Corporate panels pay monthly against a statement. Aging by company shows what is inside the agreed term and what needs follow-up. Referral fees, if any, should be a documented expense, not a cash adjustment that never appears in the books.

What Zuviq Book covers

Service-line billing for tests and consultations, patient and corporate customer records, price tiers, partial payments, consumable stock, expense tracking, aging and printable or link-based bills.

The centre flow is in the clinic and diagnostics brochure. For service billing, read the service business guide.

Follow one patient visit

Take one visit and check the test list, the price, the payment and the due. If the receptionist has to open a separate register to answer a billing question, the visit is split across two systems.

Frequently asked questions

Can I bill a package of tests?

Yes. List the tests and show the package discount separately, so the patient sees what was saved.

Does it store clinical reports?

No. Billing stores the test, patient, price and payment status; clinical findings stay in the laboratory's own record.

Can corporate clients pay monthly?

Yes. Bills sit on the company account, and aging shows what is within term and what is overdue.
